GAYC offers a variety of training opportunities to help teachers and directors build their skills and competencies to provide high-quality care and education for young children.
Training for Teachers
Our Super Saturday programs provide training for ECE teachers on beginning-level topics, such as health and safety, guidance and discipline, brain development, and a wide variety of other areas. More information about specific Super Saturday sessions will be posted as these sessions are scheduled.
Intermediate and Advanced Level Training
GAYC provides Intermediate and Advanced level training to help experienced ECE teachers expand their knowledge, skill set and quality of care and education. More information about specific Intermediate and Advanced Training sessions will be posted as these sessions are scheduled.
Training for Directors
40-Hour Training for Directors
Interested in becoming the director of a child care center in Georgia? GAYC provides an interactive training course that meets the state training requirement for child care center directors, and can be used to meet Quality Rated requirements. No Director Training sessions are currently scheduled for 2017; check the DECAL training calendar for other training opportunities for ECE Directors. The GAYC Together for Children conference is our biggest professional development event, with more than 150 sessions for teachers and directors. The conference is held in September at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville. Learn more on the conference page.
