As a way to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month, Prevent Child Abuse Georgia is hosting a screening of the Signature Hour of “The Raising of America,” a powerful five-part documentary series that explores the importance of early childhood education and the future of America. GAYC is a partner in this event.
This event is part of the #GaEarlyEd100 Challenge, a local campaign, made possible through the Georgia Early Education Alliance for School Ready Students (GEEARS) and the Blank Foundation, aimed at starting a conversation about what it means to make Georgia a better place for children and families. We want to ramp this conversation up in April, Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The screening will take place
April 12, 2016, 7 p.m.
66 Courtland St SE
Atlanta, GA 30303
The event will include:
- A Screening of The Raising of America: Signature Hour
- A discussion of the film, led by Mindy Binderman, Director, GEEARS
- Informational packets of local organizations concerned with improving the climate for the healthy development of families
- Networking with organizations and professionals in the field
Event partners, in addition to GAYC, include the Interfaith Children’s Movement, the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, Strengthening Families Georgia, Better Brains for Babies, the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students, and the Stephanie V. Blank Center for Safe and Healthy Children.
