Want to be more actively involved? Find your spot at GAYC!
GAYC has involvement opportunities statewide, ranging from one-time help at the conference or in the central office to longer-term opportunities such as serving on a GAYC Committee or Board. Several colleges also have student groups and there may be a local chapter of GAYC in your area. Contact the GAYC President to find out how to volunteer.
Nominate someone for the GAYC Board
Are you interested in serving on the GAYC board? Do you know a talented early childhood professional who might be willing to share his/her talents as a GAYC board member? Contact the GAYC President — she will be glad to talk with that person about positions that best fit his/her interests and skills.
Join a GAYC Committee
If you’re interested in a specific topic, volunteer to share your knowledge and skills on a GAYC committee. Committee chairs are always looking for new members. Contact the chair of the committee to learn more. Our committees include
- Nominations and Board Development
- Professional Development
- Public Policy
- Publicity and Communications
- Quality Improvements and Accreditation
- Resource Development
Attending the conference is a bargain for students at Georgia colleges and universities. Register at the reduced student rate to save money, or volunteer as a conference session host/hostess and attend some sessions for free. Volunteers may host sessions, help out in the exhibit hall, or fill in other places as needed. If you’re interested in being a student volunteer, fill out a conference volunteer application. (Student volunteer applications will be available closer to the conference.)
